What is a Core?
A core is your old engine or part that is needed for remanufacturing. When you purchase a remanufactured ATV or UTV engine, you must return your original engine so it can be remanufactured and resold. This is essential because many ATV and UTV engine parts are no longer in production. Common components that require cores include engines, transmissions, and other critical engine parts.
What is a Core Charge?
A core charge is the value assigned to your old engine or part if you decide not to return it for remanufacturing. This fee varies based on the cost of the item and the availability of cores. In cases where a part is scarce, the core charge might even exceed the actual cost of the part. Returning your core is mandatory — if you do not return a core, you forfeit any core refund and are charged the core charge.
